Falling down the archive.org rabbit hole 5/2?: Highland bagpipe historical books
In addition to finding Highland bagpipe and Uilleann pipe music, and highland bagpipe scores and tutorials, I found a couple interesting highland bagpipe history books. There are of course more at archive.org, but I've only linked to those that are in the public domain and accessible to all:
- The Highland bagpipe; its history, literature, and music, with some account of the traditions, superstitions, and anecdotes relating to the instrument and its tunes 1901 - William Laird Manson
- Some reminiscences and the bagpipe 1907 - Alexander Duncan Fraser and Alexander Duncan Fraser
- The story of the bagpipe. [With illustrations, a bibliography, and a reprint of O'Farrell's Treatise on the Irish bagpipes, published in 1801] 1911 - William Henry Grattan Flood
- The pipes of war : a record of the achievements of pipers of Scottish and overseas regiments during the war, 1914-18 1920 - Bruce Gordon Seton et al.
